PERSONA AND USER RESEARCH
Who are the different stakeholders and what are their roles concerning downtime and reliability?
How do they handle production issues and how can our product better address specific needs? We researched different engineering teams and broke them into 4 different personas. We asked what problem are we solving with each new feature and how would we market to each specific persona?
- Arthur – CEO
- Dan – VP of Engineering
- Hector – Team Lead
- James – Engineer
Sprint Planning
Estimating time for the project.
Each week we would plan different parts of the app as a team to keep the project on track. Working with the dev team I was able to see planning from a new perspective and learn how to design for the strengths of our developers by working together from the start.
WHITEBOARD
Whiteboard each section of the app for the right product-market fit.
Having a dedicated DevOps engineer to work with on the planning of each section helped with the focus of the app. We didn’t just design the app to look good we made it help our users by showing them problems before they happened.

MARKETING WEBSITE
Planned, designed and built the marketing site to help launch our product.
Along with the application I worked with the marketing and content team to design and build out the site in HubSpot. I designed the site to match the brand image we were building in the app. I quickly learned how to take advantage of Hubspot’s features and flaws to make a marketing site to help bring in leads.
High-fidelity Website.
Worked with the content team to plan, design, and build out the marketing site in Hubspot.

EVENT BRANDING
Event Branding: AWS re:invent, DevOps Days, SaltConf, and other tradeshows.
Working at a growing start-up I’m responsible for the overall brand, not just the app. Have you ever sourced, rented, set up, and controlled a mechanical bull? I have. We had a fun time with our brand and love having our customers engaged and even provided bull rides during a tradeshow.
