PERFECTLY POSH VIRTUAL OFFICE

Virtual Office redesign for leading direct sales eCommerce company.

Perfectly Posh is an eCommerce leader in direct sales of beauty and wellness products. I led the redesign of the  Perfectly Posh virtual office where consultants could track sales, growth, and manage their downline. This project resulted in a better user experience, increased efficiency, and profit for Posh consultants worldwide.

PERSONA AND USER RESEARCH

Who are the Posh consultants and how can I design a tool to help them without knowing anything about them?

With tens of thousands of consultants all over the nation, I needed to find out who the visual office was for and how this would impact each consultant’s business. I interviewed 25 consultants picked by the business development team ranging from new consultants to top performers and built personas based on the similarities and differences. I also created individual avatars for each consultant I interviewed for the presentation and for them to use. After finishing the personas I had a better understanding of who I was redesigning the virtual office for. Consultants fall into the following user groups – Career, Part-Time, and Hobbyist.

SITE STRUCTURE AND AUDIT

So many pages and no way for the user to find the information they need to run their business.

Worked closely with the business development team to audit the virtual office. We reviewed usage based on analytics and restructured the site, deleted outdated sections, and added new sections based on constant interviews that fell within our development timeline and capabilities.

Navigation and Consultant Login

Something as simple as a universal login and navigation can go a long way.

One of the main complaints the users I interviewed had was not being able to easily log into the reports they need to help with sales. The consultants use the e-commerce site more than the buyers, but it was never set up to work that way. I redesigned the navigation to work within the e-commerce site and virtual office seamlessly. It’s interesting that something so small could make such a huge impact and I’m glad I was part of it helping with this pain point.

Original Login

Consultants could only log into the virtual office from the eCommerce home page. Overall this was a huge pain point for everyone I talked with.

Updated Navigation
STYLE GUIDE

A consistent style for both the Virtual Office and the eCommerce site.

Worked with the Director of eCommerce and Creative Director to ensure the Virtual Office was integrated seamlessly into the existing eCommerce site, packaging, and overall brand. The VO follows the base style guide and allows for style updates.

Sketching Initial Pages

Updating a messy dashboard to fit everything into a useful page.

The old dashboard page was a grouping of promotions and Posh info. In Thursday focus groups I attended, consultants all said they don’t look at the info on this page because it’s too busy. They are more interested in the downline and order history. Do we need this page or should it be added to the updated site navigation? I reorganized it with the current info on the existing page, starting with sketches on a whiteboard.

WIREFRAMES AND USER FLOWS

Explain the process and get approval from the stakeholders.

With so many sections in the Virtual Office, I broke them into multiple section redesigns with the business development team to get approval during the redesign process so we didn’t duplicate efforts. I used different wireframes and user flows to work out development constraints with the dev team and get a faster buy off on the redesign.

Virtual Office Before and After Redesign

Here are a few of the high-level pages included in the Virtual Office redesign with the before pages.

Outcome

The Virtual Office was a hit. More importantly, the consultants felt listened to with this new sales tool resulting in sales and teams growing.

Consultants were able to track downline easier and that resulted in not only the consultant’s personal growth but also overall company sales grew 400% after the VO was established. Listen to one consultant’s first reaction to using the new virtual office.

Posh Event Branding

Along with my role and the Sr UXUI, I was able to help between UX projects on a number of logos for the many corporate retreats and events Posh held for consultants every quarter. Here are a few of the event logo options I designed.
